EPAC Statement on High Rocks Drilling

It was reported to EPAC and park officials that an individual was drilling pockets on a face at High Rocks for the purpose of placing trad gear. The individual has been identified and we trust park officials to take whatever course of action they deem appropriate. We will continue to work with the park to remedy this situation.

Please remember…

  • Proper permission from the land owner is required prior to any development and consultation with the local community should be sought.
  • Chipping, drilling or alternation of natural surfaces is strictly prohibited under many climbing policies and is not in line with current best practices.

To Our Community….

Thank you to all of those who came forward from a place of care and concern for our safety, our access and the protection of our precious resource.

To The Person Doing This…

PLEASE STOP! Doing this at High Rocks, other local crags or any natural resource is not acceptable. Continuing these egregious acts will put our access and relationships with land managers at risk.
