Climbers for Bat Conservation (CBC), South Central PA Climbers (SCPC), Birdsboro Area Climbers Association (BACA) and Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance of Climbers (EPAC) are excited to host a workshop to better understand and help conserve bat populations by building connections with rock climbers, land managers, and biologists.

Dr. Shawn Davis, Slippery Rock University, & Co-Dir. of Climbers for Bat Conservation
This workshop will consist of a classroom and field experience. Classroom content will include bat ecology and safety as well as facilitated discussions that highlight where climbers, land managers, and bat biologists’ interests align, set priorities, and work through anticipated conflicts. The field portion will allow participants to practice collecting roosting location and bat identification data using app enabled intake forms and echo meters. They will also practice submitting acoustic data from the echo meters to the PGC.
*Climbing will be available during the field portion but not required
**Lunch and Dinner provided
This workshop is funded by a grant from Access Fund.
