EPAC Welcomes New Board Members

EPAC is excited to add new board members to our team. However, before we introduce them, we would be remiss to not thank Wayne, Georgia, Geiger, and John for their hard work and dedication in moving EPAC forward. While we will miss them on our board, we know they will be out supporting their communities.

Now, meet the new folks…

My name is Emmy! I am busy mom of three, critical care nurse of 10 years and general lover of the outdoors. Raising kids and being a nurse can be a stressful mix at times and the outdoors is truly where I can escape the busy day to day activities and obligations, the alarms and the deadlines. I was always a hiker and backpacker, but when I started climbing 7 years ago, it stole my heart. Since I started climbing, I was on a mission to obtain as much information as possible to become safe, independent and responsible at the cliff. I was always quick to sign up for courses to grow as a climber and work toward better risk management and safety.

Derek Kemmerer lives in Norristown with his fiance Emily and his daughter Olly. He has been climbing for almost 4 years with bouldering being his main focus. He has been a member at Reach Climbing and Fitness in Bridgeport since 2019, and he currently teaches climbing classes to kids there. He loves getting outdoors to climb, hike, and explore. He is passionate about conservation, and he is looking forward to helping grow climbing in Eastern Pennsylvania.

My name is Jessica Lipkin and I moved to Philadelphia from Brooklyn in March 2021, and started consistently climbing about 5 years ago. I started lead climbing two years ago, and recently was privileged enough to climb in Oregon and Utah. In warmer weather, you can find me at Birdsboro with my pup Bowie, or more regularly at the Cliffs in Philly. I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for this community to EPAC and continue to create accessibility for all eastern PA climbers!

Hi, I’m Brittany. I started climbing at the Doylestown Rock Gym in 2014. Over the years, with the encouragement and help of friends, I began climbing outside and haven’t looked back since. While I mostly prefer sport climbing, I do boulder occasionally and last year, started trad climbing. When I’m not climbing, you can find me teaching elementary orchestra, talking about climbing or thrifting. I’m excited to work with EPAC in supporting our local climbing areas…I wouldn’t be the climber I am today without our SEPA crags!
